When a young Uigher woman accepted Jesus Christ as her lord, she was so excited that she immediately shared her new faith with her family. Despite the real possibility of rejection and even persecution, the woman talked openly about the love of Christ that changed her life.
A Southern Baptist worker, who was helping disciple the new Christian, stood in awe as the young lady's family not only allowed the believer to speak, but five family members received Jesus into their lives.
“What a joy to be one of the few Westerners to see the church take root in this part of the world,” she said.
Across Central Asia similar stories have started to emerge. Yet such good news doesn't occur every day. In fact, of the 230 million people who live in Central Asia, fewer than one percent are evangelical Christians. In percentage terms, this means that Central Asia is the most lost region in the world.
