If you came to visit us in Afghanistan, we would do everything we could to keep you fed, entertained and happy. We all take our shoes off at the door and walk into the main room. There we would all sit down on thick quilts around a low table.
The table full of delicious food would be prepared. We eat lamb or chicken along with vegetables, yogurt, rice, and
bread, which is never missing from the dinner table. It seems like the bread never stops coming. Immediately after our guests finish their lavash (thin bread), my mother offers more. It is very important for us to serve our guests in any way we can.
We have never heard of Jesus and his command to love and serve him as well as one another. Pray that we would hear about Christ and learn to serve him as enthusiastically as we serve our guests.
