Welcome to Mashhad! I am Zahra. As my father tends the sheep I often sit on a hill overlooking my city and watch the many people come and go every day. Many are visiting the tomb of a very important religious man, Imam Reza. Muslims from around the whole world come here to say prayers and give money. Many believe Imam Reza was close to God; therefore, visiting his tomb will persuade God to answer their prayers. Some stay for a short time, but others stay all day, crying and praying. I wonder if God really does hear our prayers.Pray that the people of Mashhad would one day
worship the God who answers all prayers.
