Pamir Mountains, TAJIKISTAN
Welcome to the mountains, my friend! I am Tarana, the daughter of a farmer here in the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan. We live miles and miles from the nearest highway, and road is very treacherous. Sometimes it can only be taken by foot. Once you find the highway, it would take hours to get to the nearest town. We may be in an isolated place, but it is the most beautiful place in the world.
The Pamirs are called “the Roof of the World” - dramatic, snow-capped mountains open up into gorgeous valleys where we live. But we often fear land-slides, and because of the rough terrain, they can block our way out of the valleys.
Our community is very cut-off from the rest of the world, so few people are willing to risk the journey to tell us the Truth of Jesus. Will you pray that more people will come to tell us the gospel?
