Samarkan, UZBEKISTAN

My name is Dilafruz. I live in a large house with my whole family- my parents, my grandparents, my uncle and aunt and their children, and my six brothers and sisters. My oldest brother recently got married, so his wife just moved in with us, too. The wedding was very exciting! Our entire neighborhood came to celebrate. We sat around long, low tables in our courtyard and had an enormous feast.
Palau, a rice dish with meat, raisins, carrots, walnuts, and lots of spices was piled high on every table. Samarkand is famous for having the best bread in Central Asia. So every table had many loaves of the delicious round bread, which we call naan.
The music started playing and everyone began to dance! The guests twirled and swayed, their brightly colored clothing shimmering in the low light. The party lasted until the early hours of the morning. I fell asleep before all the guests left!
Pray that we would know our eternal Bridegroom and celebrate for all eternity!
