Shymkent, KAZAKHSTAN

My name is Nargul. I live in the bustling town of Shymkent, Kazakhstan. Compared to the nearby villages, it is very diiferent. Children in the villages go to school six days a week, just like me, but then are required to work at home. The boys work in the fields and the girls must help at home, learning to cook, clean, and sew.
In Shymkent, I have a much easier life. I have to study, but when I finish, I can go outside to play, get ice cream or go to the park. In the city, my friends and I enjoy watching television and playing video games - just like many children in the USA.
Although everyone identifies themselves
as Muslim, most people are very supersitions.
Pray for us in Shymkent, that we would learn about Jesus and live a life free from superstitions.
