“sanctified by the Word of God and prayer.” —I Tim.4: 5

During this prayer time you will learn some of the positions used by Muslims during namazstanding, listening, bowing, worshiping and kneeling. Each of these positions is often found in Scripture, especially in the Psalms. All of these positions were used by Jews and early Christians before the birth of Islam.

Write the names of Central Asian people groups on slips of paper and place them on the carpets or tables before the event. Encourage women to voice their prayers for the peoples of Central Asia during the prayer time.

For a Muslim Arabic is the only legitimate language for prayer. Most Central Asian women do not speak Arabic, but they recite prayers in Arabic five times a day during namaz, in order to earn sawab, or merit with God. Praise God that we can approach Him in our heart language.

Invite the ladies to stand and join you as you demonstrate each position. Repeat the positions as you pray. Use the first repetition to align your heart and mind with the heart and mind of Jesus. The third time through, pray for the needs of the Central Asia women. As you perform each stance, read each suggested Scripture and prayer point.
